BIO

Jarius Groves, Chicago native, is an up and coming entertainer who's not only a singer but a lyricist dedicated to his craft. His goals are to enlighten, enrich and entertain through his autobiographical songs throughout different stages of his life.

Groves’ songs are smooth and mellow with catchy hooks. One example is, “No one can ever take your place, love don’t make mistakes,” from the song, All I Want. Groves’ generalizes his songs by never using the words “girl,” “boy,” “he” or “she.” His songs have been described as plots to music, according to Marque “Keyz” Dotson.

Coming from a musical family, his mother Bonnie Phillps, is a singer who has toured with The Platters twice. Phillps has also done solo projects with her band R2Project. Groves' stepfather, Robert Reddrick, is the musical director at the Black Ensemble Theater. Also, Groves is 5 of 7 artistic siblings.

Aaliyah has been his biggest inspiration since childhood. He's always believed he's had a strong connection with her style and music. Other musical influences include Michael Jackson, Craig David, Usher, Kelly Rowland and Dorothy Dandridge.
